At last year’s E3 Electronic Arts surprised gamers with the announcement of a new Mirror’s Edge. After that initial teaser, very little new information surfaced about the game and many people were hoping that the company’s E3 press conference would be where it resurfaced. While that did happen, it doesn’t seem to be quite as far along as I had hoped. The video EA showed (which you can see below), mainly focuses on the team at DICE talking about what they’re trying to accomplish with this new game with some conceptual footage thrown in.

Like the Criterion reveal, it still seems quite early on and I’m worried we’ll be seeing it again at E3 in 2015 rather than having the chance to play it. Senior Producer Sara Jansson has also posted a small blog post on the official Mirror’s Edge website with a bit more information. This was one of the disappointments of E3 for me as I was hoping for some more concrete footage rather than stuff that’s at the conceptual stage, but hopefully it won’t be another year before we find out more details.  What we do know so far is that it will be in development for Xbox One, PS4, and PC and will be an open world prequel to the original game that uses the Frostbite 3 engine.
