The more I hear from Felix Martin’s upcoming album The Scenic Album (out September 17th), the more I like it. The instrumental progressive metal/jazz musician makes it look easy on his 14-string guitar, and the songs actually have substance rather than being all technical showmanship. Check out the newest song that Martin has released a video for below as well as some other videos from the album. Prosthetic is really pushing this one and I’m glad that they are, as it’s clear there is a level of talent on display here that deserves to be heard.

Genre-defying 14-string guitarist FELIX MARTIN has debuted a play-through video for “2 AM,” a jazz/metal-flavored song from his Prosthetic studio debut “The Scenic Album,” via ALARM Magazine. You can watch the video on their site HERE or view it below:

Described by Metal Injection as “the perfect balance of composure and technicality,” MARTIN’s “The Scenic Album” — due Sept. 17 — combines instrumental progressive metal with elements of jazz, fusion, funk and world music with support from acclaimed drummer Marco Minnemann (The Aristocrats, Necrophagist, Steven Wilson, Joe Satriani) and bassist Nathan Navarro. You can pre-order a digital copy of the album on Bandcamp and receive an instant download of the single “Spam II” or grab a CD from the Prosthetic web store HERE.
