Amon Amarth has been touring North America regularly in recent years, which is great news for fans as it gives them plenty of opportunities to check them out. While I haven’t been as crazy about the band’s recent albums, I saw them perform live earlier this year and found their live set to still be one worth seeing. This fall the group will be back on tour in the U.S. and Canada, and will bring Sabaton along with them. Skeletonwitch will be the opener, and I find it interesting that they’ve been chosen again since they just toured with Amon Amarth a few months ago. The one exception is the New York City date on October 18th, where Vallenfyre will perform their first ever North American show! Check out the full list of dates below.

Amon Amarth Fall 2014 Tour

Amon Amarth, the critically-acclaimed, Billboard-charting metal act, will be re-conquering North America this fall. This time around, the band will be bringing fellow Swedes, Sabaton, along for the ride. Additionally, Skeletonwitch will once again be opening the show, except in New York where fans will be treated to the first ever, and exclusive North American performance by extreme metal supergroup Vallenfyre*. In February of this year, fans in Los Angeles were treated to an exclusive appearance of the Viking ship stage set up. For this tour, New York fans will bear witness to the Viking ship spectacle at the Best Buy Theatre on October 18. Tickets will go on sale on May 20th. Keep an eye on amonamarth.com/tour for details.

Amon Amarth expresses their excitement: “Yes, we are coming back to North America, and this time we’re doing CANADA and the US together with our friends in Sabaton and Skeletonwitch! We can also announce that we’ll be bring the Viking ship to the show in New York City! So get ready North America, this time we’ll take no prisoners!” * The New York City show will be part of the Decibel Magazine 10th anniversary celebrations which will include additional news and events to be announced soon.

Amon Amarth’s latest album, “Deceiver of the Gods,” was released in June of 2013. The album debuted at #19 on the Billboard Top 200 chart, making it the band’s highest-charting album to date.
