Children of Bodom has been one of the few Scandinavian metal bands that tours in North America on a regular basis, giving fans and newcomers plenty of opportunities to see their live set. While I haven’t been as crazy about the group’s recorded material in recent years, I found their live performance to still be very enjoyable. For this new run of dates, Children of Bodom will be performing with Machine Head, Epica, and Battlecross. Check out the full list of dates below.

Children of Bodom Tour

Heavy metal champions CHILDREN OF BODOM (aka COB) have announced a fall North American tour. The revered quintet will launch a 27 city campaign in Riverside, CA on October 1. Joining COB on the continent-spanning jaunt will be Machine Head, Epica and Battlecross. CHILDREN OF BODOM continue to tour in support of their latest release Halo of Blood, an album that is called “unapologetic” by Pitchfork.

“We can’t wait to return to North America for another round on our “Halo of Blood” world tour,” comments frontman / guitarist Alexi Laiho. “See you soon!”

CHILDREN OF BODOM’s enthralling mix of modern heavy metal, melodic hooks and the instrumental acrobatics have solidified the critically acclaimed Finnish band as one of the most revered hard rock acts in the world and one of the leading voices of metal’s new generation. The group’s superstar frontman / guitarist Alexi Laiho is known worldwide for his ambitious guitar playing and was named “Best Metal Guitarist” by the readers of Guitar World. CHILDREN OF BODOM has been called “technically dazzling” by the New York Times and “One of the most talented metal bands of our time” by VICE. More than 15 years into its career, COB continues to grow its ever-expanding fan base via supercharged live shows that have also made fans of some of hard rock’s biggest names. The band’s name is derived from the infamous Lake Bodom murders, which took place in Finland in 1960.

“Whatever you do, don’t be discouraged, if you practice every day for the next 15 years maybe you’ll be able to play on a level similar to Laiho. If you’re not familiar with Children Of Bodom, boy, are you in for a treat.” – NOISEY

“The secret to their success has been an unapologetic penchant for lifting elements of death, black, and thrash metal and polishing them up to make their semi-abrasive stylings accessible for a younger generation.” – PITCHFORK

“technically dazzling” – NEW YORK TIMES

“the band’s latest release, Halo of Blood still retains and expands upon the signature elements of their sound, namely New Wave of British Heavy Metal-style minor riffs, harmonized melodic lines, double-bass-drum-powered sixteenthnotes at breakneck tempos, and lyrical themes that even Edgar Allen Poe might find macabre.” – GUITAR PLAYER

“Alexi Laiho is a guitarist and vocalist in a class by himself. His total domination of his instrument while screaming alternate rhythms at the same time will keep aspiring musicians hot on practicing, for Laiho proves it can be done. Children of Bodom are masters of their craft and purists of the genre…this will be a big year for Children of Bodom…and their fans.” – POPMATTERS

“‘Halo of Blood’ represents a rejuvenated Children of Bodom…Structurally strong and bewitching music” – LOUDWIRE
