Death of an Era will release their debut album Black Bagged on June 23rd via Artery Recordings. The group has released a new song called “The Global Movement” which can be streamed below via YouTube. Although the press release calls them death metal, I would consider this band closer to deathcore based on this song. That’s not necessarily a bad thing though, as while I know plenty of people that aren’t into the genre I still like it when the hooks are there and it’s done well and Death of an Era seems capable of offering that. They will be on tour with Arsonists Get All The Girls starting June 13th, check out the full list of dates below.

(New York, NY) – Death of an Era’s debut album Black Bagged is now available for pre-order on iTunes ( When fan pre-order the album they will receive instant grat downloads of “The Global Movement” and “Big Brother.” Two additional tracks will also be available with the iTunes pre-order in coming weeks.

Listen to “The Global Movement” exclusively on Alternative Press

Black Bagged will be released on June 23rd (Artery Recordings/Razor & Tie). The album was produced by Kevin Lankford (This Or The Apocalypse, The Crimson Armada). Merch pre-orders are available HERE. The band will be hitting road on the Rage All Summer Tour with Arsonists Get All The Girls and supporting acts Arkaik and Gift Giver (tour dates below).

The Columbus, OH based death metal band Death of an Era was formed in 2013 while the band members were still in high school. After a successful run promoting their critically acclaimed second EP The Great Commonwealth, the band holed up in a hometown studio with Kevin Lankford during early 2014. They’ve crushed venues all over the country and continually accrued acclaim from the likes of Alternative Press, who showcased them prominently in AP&R, in the process. Black Bagged hints at just how deep their message and music are. Confronting everything from child abuse and drug addiction to deceit and bullying head-on, the group—Daniel Simpson [vocals], Nathan Stewart [guitar], Dustin Colling [guitar], and brothers Chris [bass] and Michael Cooper [drums]—offer catharsis in the face of chaos.
