Tiger Flowers has released the song “Suicide Giants” which will be on their debut full length Dead Hymns. It has been a few years since I last heard from the group, but it’s clear they’ve made some significant strides forward. There’s an eerier feel to the lead riff that isn’t always as common in metalcore and hardcore of this type, and it gives the entire piece a more introspective and drearier feel while still pulling in some much needed intensity. If the rest of the album can offer tracks like this I think Tiger Flowers will really break free of the crowd and turn some heads, and I’m excited to check it out. Dead Hymns is out April 8th.

Revolver Magazine has premiered “Suicide Giants,” a new song off Tiger Flowers’ upcoming debut album, Dead Hymns.

An anthem of mourning, the melancholy tune is a contrast to the brash, rockin’ style showcased on other new Tiger Flowers tracks like “Cruisin’ ’til the Wheels Fall Off” whose accompanying video was named “video of the year” by MetalInjection.

As a recent Tiger Flowers review on Invisible Oranges puts it, “Coalesce are their most obvious reference point, but that comparison doesn’t tell the whole story.” Brooklyn Vegan has compared the band to “elders who pushed the genre into new directions, like Deadguy, Converge, and Rorschach.”

Melotov Records releases Dead Hymns on vinyl on April 8th. The LA label, distributed exclusively by Deathwish Inc, is home to releases by The Banner, Ghostlimb, Old Wounds, ACxDC, and more. Dead Hymns was produced by Elliot Geller (Malignancy, Dim Mak) and mastered by Shane Frisby (Turmoil, Revocation).
