Denzel Washington once again showed that he can bring an audience to theater to see Denzel be Denzel. His latest film The Equalizer scored the fourth highest-grossing September weekends of all time, earning an estimated $35 million.
Also opening this week was the animated stop-motion film The Boxtrolls, opening with an estimate of $17.2 million.
Aside from these two new releases, the top-ten list looks similar to the last few weeks.
