X-Men: Days of Future Past opened with an estimated $90.7 million, over the three-day Memorial weekend.  The film earned an impressive $171.1 million overseas, and will pass The Wolverine ($282 million) shortly, as the most profitable X-Men film to date.  X-Men finished below this summers Captain America: The Winter Soldier ($95 million) and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 ($91.6 million), but impressive numbers when compared to the other X-Men entries.  It’s the second best opening weekend for any X-Men film, behind 2006’s The Last Stand ($102.8 million).

Image4_FullLast week’s champ Godzilla fell 66 percent from last week earning $31.4 million, for a total of $148.8 million (not counting the impressive overseas numbers).  Godzilla is predicted to finish its domestic run with somewhere north of $200 million.

Finishing third was the new Adam Sandler comedy Blended, which with tough competition and low-reviews, bombed with $14.2 million.  Audiences seem to hip-to Sandler’s ticks, as his movies have been getting lazier and lazier.  Crossing the $100 million mark, Neighbors brought in $13.9 million ($113.6 million total).
