In the interview, Elizabeth Olsen was asked about her role in the upcoming Avengers sequel replied, “I’m excited Ive been doing homework and reading comics. I’m really excited about Scarlet Witch because she’s really complicated and it’s really fun stuff.  I’m really tired of playing versions of myself, and playing something like that sounds a lot cooler to me.”

Scarlet Witch and brother Quicksilver first appeared in X-Men #4 (1964).  Scarlet Witch went on to become a regular in the Avengers, and has grown into a fan favorite.  The Scarlet Witch possesses the mutant power of affecting probability fields. By a combination of gestures and mental concentration, she creates a hex-sphere, a finite pocket of reality-disrupting quasi-psionic force, which upon reaching its intended target, causes disturbance in the molecular-level probability field surrounding the target.
