Square Enix has announced that Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX will be out for Playstation 3 this year. This HD update of the game brings the previously only Japanese content from Final Mix to North America along with the PSP prequel Birth by Sleep. HD cinematics from the DS Re:coded game will also be included in the package. Square Enix hasn’t provided a specific release date just yet, but has released new screenshots showing the upgraded graphics, which you can check out below.

LOS ANGELES (May 30, 2014) – For the first time, the FINAL MIX versions of KINGDOM HEARTS II and KINGDOM HEARTS Birth by Sleep will be making their way to North America. KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.5 ReMIX allows players to have Sora go head-to-head with Roxas at the Station of Awakening. Players will also have access to secret boss battles, new weapons, abilities, mini-games and additional cutscenes that help explain the story of KINGDOM HEARTS.

KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.5 ReMIX also includes HD remastered cinematics from KINGDOM HEARTS Re:coded, the game that sent Sora on an adventure in the digital world . Sora, Riku and the rest of the characters of the beloved franchise will come to life later this year, with cutscenes and battles recreated from scratch for this gorgeous HD remastered collection for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system.
