FXX’s The League at New York Comic Con

Of all the shows, video games and other mediums of entertainment that I was able to cover during my whirlwind weekend at Comic Con, there were none that I enjoyed more than The League. For those who aren’t familiar, The League (which moved from FX to their new network FXX before the start of season 5) follows a bunch of thirty-somethings who are all in a fantasy football league. But don’t worry, if you’re not really familiar with fantasy football – or football in general – you can still the enjoy the show in all of its perverse glory. The events that transpire in the show may not be the most believable at times, but they’ll definitely have you in stitches every week.

Shockingly, this was The League‘s first ever appearance at a Comic Con as they are supposedly rejected every year from the one in San Diego (well, that’s what cast member Paul Scheer said, any way). Their panel was everything I had hoped it would be – insightful but also vulgar to the point that it made you feel “forever unclean”. Speaking of “forever unclean”, star Nick Kroll (who plays Rodney Ruxin on the show) was the only member of the cast that didn’t attend. That frittata.

Still, FX was kind enough to supply me with a pass for the panel so I’ve provided a video (well, audio stuffed into a video) recording of the entire panel as well as roundtable interviews with the creators and cast. Please enjoy all of the videos. The League airs Wednesday nights at 10:30pm EST on FXX.
