While I sadly haven’t had the chance to check out Gotham yet, I’m a big fan of Batman and crime dramas, so Gotham seems like a natural fit for me. While it premiered to mixed reviews, the cast are confident that the show will pick up steam and hook audiences soon. While Gotham is set in the Batman universe, the creators decided to take a different stab at the universe, opting to focus on the city pre-Batman. Don’t worry, you’ll still see plenty of Batman’s archenemies in their early years including The Penguin, Poison Ivy and many more. Gotham will work as something of a stepping stone for them, showing them before they become the famous DC villains we’re familiar with. While it may not face as much of an uphill climb as NBC’s Constantine, it’s great to see DC taking such an ambitious┬ástab at the TV market.

Ben McKenzie (James Gordon):

Robin Lord Taylor (Oswald Cobblepot, AKA The Penguin):

Erin Richards (Barbara Kean):

Sean Pertwee (Alfred Pennyworth):

Donal Logue (Harvey Bullock):

Actor Ben McKenzie also made an amusing cameo in our interview with Marcos Siega, executive producer of The Following, too.

Gotham airs Friday’s at 9pm on Fox. For more information on Gotham, check out the shows website.
